  I graduated from this school a few years back. The school is extremely over priced considering you put in a LOT of hrs in experience that the school gets paid good money for. I had to pay an extra $400 at the end of the year for some days I missed due to health Issues I was having and had doctors notes for but they were concerned more about money then their students well being. Teachers treat you like children, taking points away for something as silly as missing a cuticle stick in the barbicide jars ( Points effect your overall grade ) I got a good education ( cost me and arm and a leg with student loans) but the overall respect given to the students was very disappointing, inappropriate and unprofessional. I hope they have changed their ways for future students.

  I never write reviews for things, but this place was so good I just had to.
  I recently had my hair cut and dyed by April at the Academy and it was the best experience I've ever had with a stylist.
  During my consultation, she was very warm and friendly, making sure she knew what I wanted and how it would be done. Then, while setting up my appointment, they were very understanding of my tight schedule and allowed me to come in on two days - one to get my hair cut and the next to do the dye job.
  During both appointments, April was an absolute joy to work with. I felt very comfortable and she shared my enthusiasm for the new style I was getting. While washing my hair (which had to be done a couple of times during the dying stage), she gave my scalp a really great massage each time, and I honestly just felt so pampered.
  She went above and beyond my expectations and I am so happy with my hair. They will absolutely be getting my business in the future.

  This school is the biggest joke, if you've read other reviews you'll know if you get sick or have circumstances where you can't attend school - they will not be forgiven.
  The director is more money hungry than concerned for the well being of her students and school and I knew many people going there who felt the same way and the director was never any help.
  The teachers are kind however the curriculum is designed to treat you all like children and the teachers act like they're babysitting.
  Not a pleasent experience and I would HIGHLY recommend you choose a different school.

  Used to be impressed with the school, but not so much now. I went to get highlights done but was told I couldn't get done what I wanted. Still went with highlights though and they ended up very uneven. An instructor didn't even check my hair when the student was done. I emailed explaining my disatisfaction. An instructor emailed me back and told me to book for a "re-do". I didn't get to book right away because I had a family emergency and I had to leave the province. When I got back I called to see if i could still get my re-do. I left a voicemail and it's now going on 2 days with tho response

  I am currently attending the Academy of Excellence and have 2 more months before I graduate from the Hair Design program! The staff is very professional and teaches you everything you need to learn in order to be placed in a salon! They have an excellent job placement rate for when you are done the program! I am really loving it here so far and I know I made the right decision to come here out of all of the other schools there is to offer!
